1.What is Electronic Map?
Electronic Map is a powerful and friendly-use mapping and information system, which can be simply identified as a universal map stored in digital form.
2.Are the maps I am looking at the latest version?
Yes. Our technician teams will timely renew the data and guarantee maps you see are up-to-date.
3.Which web browsers does the Foshan City Guide support?
Foshan City Guide supports browsers such as, IE, NetScape, Maxthon, and FireFox.
4.What can I do with the Foshan City Guide?
The Foshan City Guide is able to offer you the services such as, map browsing, information search, and map location.
5.Is the Foshan City Guide able to help me determine the shortest path to my destination?
Currently we only offer the displacement calculator, that you can calculate the straight-line displacement between two points. Unfortunately, intellectualized most short-path analysis system is still in the developing stage. To know more about this system, please catch up with our notice board. We will always be welcoming your precious advices.
6.Is the Foshan City Guide able to help me determine the location of my destination in Foshan?
The Foshan City Guide has the map location function. With this function, you can locate your destination in the map and an information window will pop-up window will tell you the location and some other information about your destination.
7.How can I get more information about my destination?
Foshan City Guide offers information not only the map. Click on the ‘Search’ button and type in your destination, the system will tell you information that is more detailed about your destination. To know more please check the Search session in our user guide.
8.When I found out the information about my destination, can I share it with my friends?
Once you use the label or guiding function, you will obtain a link. You are welcome to send this link to share the information with your family and friends.

As a “Window”, connecting the Foshan Government and the society, “Foshan City Guide”, covers all areas of information construction, including official information in touring, public transport, education, business, government, and public services. “Foshan City Guide” also publishes the latest news about the informatization progress in Foshan, and serves Foshan’s duty by dimensional means.

User Guide

With our interactive map, you will have no problem getting around Foshan. The sample below shows you the three parts you will be expected to see on our map.

Toolbar

In the ‘toolbar’ area, you can see two kinds of tools: map tools, and search tools. Map tools allow you to drag the map around, zoom in and out, toggle the map, and overview. With the measuring tools that we recently added in, you could now even get the actual displacement between two or more places, which will assist you to manage your tour. With the search tools, you can specify your destination, which saves you precious time and effort. Results will be shown in Information Centre.

Map Area

Surface features and search results of the current area will be shown in the Map Area.

Information Centre

If you would like to go any place in Foshan, type in your destination into the search menu in tool bar, or you can type in any key words of your destination, we will list every single item that satisfy your key word. Then you can select your destination, and the map will automatically zoom in with your destination in the centre.

Toolbar detailed instructions

Eagle map
With the eagle map function, now you can easily know whereabouts your destination is in the city. When you click on the “eagle map” button, a little square will be representing your destination; also, you can adjust the map by simply clicking any other points.
Zoom In
When you click on the “Zoom In” button on the tool bar, your mouse will turn into a magnifier. Then you can click on any points on the map, you can zoom in the map centered by this point; also, you can select and area and you can magnify this area on the map. In addition, you can keep zooming in until you choose other tools (zoom out, dragging .etc).
Zoom Out
Similar to zooming in, when you click on the “Zoom In” button on the tool bar, your mouse will turn into a “reducing glass”. Then you can click on any points on the map, you can zoom out the map centered by this point; also, you can select and area and you can reduce this area on the map. However, once you reduce the map once it just fits the screen, it will stop reducing until you select other functions; also similar to zooming out you can keep zooming out until it fits the screen.
Full Extent
Under any condition, once you click on the “Full Extent” button, the map will go back to the “Full Extent” state as the first time you visit this site.
Back
This button will bring you back to the last layer of the map.
Dragging
Now you can drag you map by holding on the left click of your mouse and moving the map around. You can keep dragging the map until you select other functions (zoon in and out .etc).
Search tools
You can specify your destination by using the Search tools; you can type in the place you wish to go and the result will come out on information screen.
Displacement
Once you click on the “Displacement” button, your mouse will become a cross, and then you can measure the displacement between two or more points. You can click on any point on the map as your fist spot to adjust your initial point, and then click on your second spot to adjust your second point… and to your last point. The measurement will automatically finish once you stop clicking. The “cancel” button will clear any previous results.
Clear
The Clear button will clear any selected objects and measurement results.
Label
Label a location on the map. After labeling the map, you will obtain an address. You can share the information with this link to your family and friends.
With this function, the system will guide you to your destination.
After the process, you will also obtain an address that you can share with your family and friends.
